It's August, so it's Perseid meteor shower time, when the Earth passes through the debris left by an ancient comet. This is a Perseid- inspired haiku from Kristen Lindquist, Maine poet, essayist and naturalist:
More falling stars tonight
than acorns falling
on the neighbor's roof.
