The Category 5 Trumpicane

The burgeoning crisis enveloping the campaign of neo-fascist misogynist Donald "Rump" Trump over obscene comment he made about women -- the attempted adultery, the predatory sexual assault / groping, the vulgar language used -- has potentially done the damage that countless offensive statements in the past haven't. If there were any wavering "independents" or Rethugs on the fence, this development will give them a reason to withdraw their support from Rump. It won't have an impact on his hard-core supporters, the delusional "deplorables" who have brushed away every past offense he's committed. We're also awaiting self-righteous statements from right-wing "evangelicals" that support him, excusing their man's obscene remarks (expect a "hate the sin, not the sinner" tact from these outrageous hypocrites).

It's also enveloped the Rethuglican / New Confederate / Stupid / Shooters Party, as elected officials from Sen. Mitch "Missy" McConnell and Speaker Paul "Lyin'" Ryan, to fossil Sen. John "McNasty" McCain and ever-thirsty Sen. Marco "Glug Glug" Rubio condemned Rump and tried to distance themselves from his vile language. Few if any Rethug politicians are going to want to appear on stage with this sick buffoon. Down ballot Rethugs in contested states like North Carolina, New Hampshire, Arizona and Missouri are running away from the orange sexual predator in order to save themselves, but with four weeks left before the election, it may be too late.

Yesterday, Rump issued an "if anyone was offended"- type statement, before being forced to issue a cursory and defiant video "apology" early this morning. In a hint of what might come in tomorrow's debate, he immediately turned to a cheap attack on Secretary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton's sexual peccadillos. If he thinks that's a smart strategy -- attack a woman for her husband's infidelity -- he's going to have a very bad night. He's going down.

UPDATE: While the major collateral damage over this scandal will be to the Rethuglicans, it's also going to affect the career of celebrity brown-noser Billy Bush, child of the Bush political family and Dumbya's cousin. He was egging Rump on and supplying some vulgar lines of his own.  He's issued an apology, but whether it will keep him on as co-host of the Today Show remains to be seen (also, is NBC a full-employment company for Bushes, e.g. Billy, Jenna?). Maybe a Bush will ultimately have a hand in Rump's downfall after all. Bwahahaha.
