Star Power vs. Dim Bulbs

Our society editor has been out with a case of gout, so we're late in relaying the story of President and Mrs. Obama's "farewell" dinner that they hosted at the White House on Friday night. Just a small gathering of friends, including: David Letterman, Gloria Estefan, Magic Johnson, Al Roker, Lena Dunham, Ken Burns, Stevie Wonder, Lorne Michaels, Usher, Harvey Weinstein, Bradley Cooper, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Robert De Niro, Kelly Rowland, George Lucas, Jon Hamm, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Beyonce, Jay Z, Nick Jonas, Jordan Sparks, Jerry Seinfeld, and music icon Paul McCartney, among many others.

We're sure the President noted the star power at his dinner, in comparison with the "talent" that neo-fascist Putin pooch Donald "Rump" Trump has managed desperately to scrape from the bottom of the entertainment barrel for his upcoming inauguration, like D-lister knucklehead Scott "Chachi" Baio and burned out gun fetishist Ted "Crap My Pants" Nugent.  Rump craves the attention of famous celebrities, taking every opportunity to be photographed even with the dregs of them when he should be preparing for his new job. He pretends to be nonchalant about the massive celebrity shunning for his inauguration -- his big day -- but it gnaws at him to his core, eating at his lifelong insecurities. Seeing the turnout for the President must be sending him into a seething rage.
