Court Rejects DOJ Appeal On Muslim Ban
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected the Justice Department's appeal for an immediate stay of U.S. District Court Judge James Robart's ruling Friday to temporarily lift the ban on Muslims traveling to the U.S. from seven Muslim nations. The appellate court's ruling represents another setback for demagogue and would-be dictator Donald "Rump" Trump in his attempt to establish an unconstitutional religious test for immigration into the U.S. The appeals court has directed the challengers of the ban and the Justice Department to respond to each other's petitions, which could delay the appellate court's decision for days. In the meantime, Rump has lashed out at Judge Robart for the temporary injunction, referring to him in an angry, childish tweet as a "so-called judge." It was reminiscent of Rump's racist castigation of the judge in his Trump University fraud case as being partial because he was a "Mexican," despite being born in Indiana.
Our national embarrassment.
