FBI: Trump Lying About Being Wiretapped

Senior Government officials are telling the New York Times that FBI Director James Comey has asked the Justice Department to publicly reject claims made by delusional pathological liar Donald "Rump" Trump that he was wiretapped at the direction of President Obama during the Presidential campaign. According to the report, the FBI Director has argued that the insinuation by Rump that the FBI illegally wiretapped him is false and has to be corrected. However, a statement has yet to be issued by the Justice Department. President Obama has strongly denied any such wiretapping. Earlier in the day on NBC, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that he was unaware of any wiretapping of Rump, and that he would have been in a position to know as DNI.

We'll see whether Comey can force the Justice Department to back him up and knock down Rump's scandalous lie.

BONUS:  The New York Times underscores the unprecedented nature of this:
Mr. Comey’s request is a remarkable rebuke of a sitting president, putting the nation’s top law enforcement official in the position of questioning Mr. Trump’s truthfulness. The confrontation between the two is the most serious consequence of Mr. Trump’s weekend Twitter outburst, and it underscores the dangers of what the president and his aides have unleashed by accusing the former president of a conspiracy to undermine Mr. Trump’s young administration.
