Trump's Bluff Called On Wiretapping Charge

Calling neo-fascist sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump's bluff asking Congress to "investigate" his bogus charge that President Obama illegally wiretapped him, Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have sent a letter to the Justice Department asking for proof about Rump's slanderous claim. This past weekend, FBI Director James Comey asked the Justice Department to refute Rump's claim, which he apparently picked up from the paranoid rantings of hate radio loon Mark Levin, but the Justice Department has thus far declined to do so.

Hopefully, the letter will do what Comey's internal request of the Justice Department has  failed to do thus far: reveal whether Rump was the target of a legal FISA-authorized wiretap (which are court-approved intercepts where probable cause for criminal or foreign espionage activity exists), or conclusively show that Rump was lying and slandering the former President. Either outcome would damage Rump, so we applaud the Senators' initiative.
