Showing Up

Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (D-VA) is facing Rethuglican coin-operated hack Ed "Soul-Dead" Gillespie for the governorship of the Commonwealth of Virginia this November. While Northam has a distinguished record as a doctor, an Army veteran of the Gulf War, and as a progressive in office, Gillespie has spent his adult life in the service of big money and bad people (he was an aide to the despicable former Rep. Dick Armey of Texas). After his stint as chairstain of the Rethuglican National Committee, he hung out his shingle as a corporate lobbyist, making sure corporations had another loud voice in Washington. Gillespie ran a campaign ad recently that accused Northam of not "showing up" in some meetings as Lieutenant Governor. Here's Northam's counterpunch, and it's a beauty:
