Sunday Reflection: Seeds

Under President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012, children of undocumented immigrants ("dreamers") were allowed to work and pursue education without fear of deportation. In this coming week, neo-fascist demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump will announce decisions on the status of the dreamers. He has vowed to end protections for those children of immigrants, exposing them to deportation or forcing them to live in the shadows, rather than propose a path to citizenship. Key business leaders have come out in opposition to Rump's threat to eliminate DACA protections.
Rump can't see the potential -- "the seed" -- in the dreamers, who are Americans in every sense of the word except for papers. It's not just about "genius." It reflects his withered soul and lack of moral character.

Trump can't see potential in anything unless it involves self-aggrandizement. And he's catering to a base that cares only for tearing down others, not building themselves up.
