One of sociopathic con man Donald "Rump" Trump's long time friends and enablers is now wringing his hands over the fact that Rump might be exactly who we know he is. New York real estate investor and Rump fundraiser and confidante Thomas Barrack said in interviews with the Washington Post (h/t P.E.C.) that he first had qualms about his friend when Rump attacked Qatar -- where Barrack has extensive investments -- as a sponsor of terrorism. Since then, Rump's unhinged statements and behavior have alarmed Barrack (who apparently was in a coma for years):
“He thinks he has to be loyal to his base. I keep on saying, ‘But who is your base? You don’t have a natural base. Your base now is the world and America, so you have all these constituencies; show them who you really are.’ In my opinion, he’s better than this.” (emphasis added)Well, no he's not. He's what you see now, regardless of Barrack's apologetics, and he's not going to change. After all, Rump told Barrack, “I love you, but if I listened to you, I’d still be on ‘The Apprentice.’ ” If you needed any more confirmation that Barrack's a poor judge of character, he was the one who recommended Paul Manafort to run Rump's campaign. 'Nuff said.
