The Sleeper Cell In Congress

From the New York Times, this gem:

Russian asset Rethuglican Congressman Dana "Code Name: Traitor" Rohrabacher has long had extreme views and an unquestioning love for Putin's Russia. House Rethuglican leader Kevin McCarthy commented last year that he believed "there's two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump." Rohrabacher's also in the key post of chairman of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee that oversees policies toward Russia, dealing with sensitive policy that Russia would love to influence. He also met with the notorious Russian intelligence cut-out Julian Assange a couple of months ago to discuss a deal to drop U.S. espionage charges against him, something that the FBI is now investigating.

The TV drama series "The Americans" portrayed fake American families that had been planted in the U.S. in 1980s America by the Soviets as "sleeper cells" to be activated when useful to them. In the treasonous Rohrabacher, we see how that fictional series wasn't far off the mark.
