Al Franken's Senate Colleagues Say He Should Step Down (UPDATED)

As more women come forward to say they were sexually harassed by Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), his Senate Democratic colleagues are now urging him to step down:

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) called for Franken to step down in a Facebook post, and the head of the Democratic National Committee, Tom Perez, agreed:
We expect more to follow shortly. We'd say it's over for him.

UPDATE: Just in from Franken's office:

Wouldn't it be great if they applied this standard to President Shitbird and collectiviely called for him to step down? Fucking cowards.

Diva - Tax cuts for the rich and corporations! Possible Supreme Court vacancy! Deconstruct Obama's legacy! Sabotage the Affordable Care Act! Destroy the environment! Screw Democrats! Morals are for losers, amirite!?

The contrast between all these Democrats holding Franken to account, and the Republican establishment swinging almost unanimously into line to support Roy Mo[lest]ore, speaks for itself.

The issue of sexual harassment is finally getting some serious national attention, as Time has just recognized. The two parties are making their stances clear. It's important for Democrats to get on the right side of this, both because it's the right thing to do and because the contrast with Republican coddling of abusers should help rally support for November 2018.

Infidel - yes, it's a no brainer when doing the right thing also happens to be the popular thing. It will be primarily women, voting in a blue wave, that will end the Republican grip on government, starting in 2018.
