Just in time for President's Day, the 2018 Presidents and Executive Politics Presidential Greatness Study surveyed Presidential scholars to create a ranking of Presidential greatness including all 45 Presidents:
"...we first asked respondents to rate each president on a scale of 0-100 for their overall greatness, with 0=failure, 50=average, and 100=great. We then averaged the ratings for each president and ranked them from highest average to lowest."The results won't surprise anyone but the most rabid and delusional Trumpist:
"The bottom third is also largely consistent with our previous survey’s ranking, with two exceptions. First, George W. Bush has risen 5 places (40.42), moving to 30th in this ranking. Second, Donald J. Trump makes his ranking debut at the very bottom of the list. His average rating is 12.34, which is nearly three points lower than James Buchanan (15.09), who previously occupied the lowest rank." (emphasis added)At the top of the ranking is, in descending order, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Barack Obama. St. Ronnie of Hollywood and Lyndon Johnson round out the top 10.
