Resembling a local, conservative news site, “The California Republican” is classified on Facebook as a “media/news company” and claims to deliver “the best of US, California, and Central Valley news, sports, and analysis.”(Ed.: it should add, "delivered with a nearly undetectable Russian accent.")
But the website is paid for by Nunes’ campaign committee, according to small print at the bottom of the site. Leading the home page this week: A photograph of Nunes over the headline: “Understanding the process behind #ReleaseTheMemo.”Bless his nonexistent heart. We didn't look -- did they use this photograph?

Of course Nunes (whose involvement in Rump's deeply- compromised transition team could be one reason he's all- in on protecting Rump as a way to protect himself) has made a botch of things on more than one occasion. The only ones buying into his cavalcade of conspiracies and smears are the goobers cheering Rump on. As his leading Democratic opponent, Andrew Janz, put it:
“He’s got fake memos, fake websites and fake news,” Janz said. “It’s disappointing to see a member of Congress, especially one who chairs an important committee, spread misinformation to his constituents, who he knows will just eat it up.”It's going to be a tough race in a district carried by Rump by 10 points, but some polls have Janz close to the margin of error. If you feel like helping to retire Sherlock ("No Nunes is good Nunes"), here's the Janz website.
