Eagles Won't Show At Trump's Photo Op (UPDATED)

Vindictive narcissist Donald "Rump" Trump has decided to cancel a visit by Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles, supposedly because of the national anthem protests over unarmed black men getting shot by cops, but in reality because a critical number of players declined to give white supremacist Rump a photo opportunity. The petulant, dishonest statement from the White (Supremacist) House apparently written by Rump himself states that the team:
"...are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."
Wrong, Cadet Bone Spurs. It's not about the military. They're not coming because you've lied about the purpose of the protests, and turned them into another race baiting issue. (In fact, the Eagles' players never knelt during the National Anthem.) If they didn't know it before Charlottesville, they know now that you're the Bigot-In-Chief and they won't participate in your charade.

The statement goes on to say that a phony patriotic, anti-First Amendment celebration will still be held tomorrow at 3 on the White (Supremacist) House grounds for "fans," but without the team being honored. We could use a rain storm about then.

UPDATELots of reaction on Twitter;  note especially the Mayor of Philadelphia's statement. Bwahahaha.

UPDATE II: Philly sportswriter Marcus Hayes has a devastating column aimed at Rump and his Pennsylvania cultists.

Trump doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. He just overreacts to anything. None of the Eagles team members took a knee or stayed in the locker room last season. He's just pissed that the majority of the team refused to go to the White House to meet him.

donnah -- We've heard that fewer than 10 players were willing to see the orange pig. It would have been funny if a small handful showed up without notifying the White House first.

Diva -- Expect more and more pro sport teams to decline to show up at his photo ops. We've got either the Cavs and Warriors coming up in basketball, with critics of him galore on both teams.
