Kim Shuns Pompeo

The anticipated follow up to neo-fascist sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump's failure in Singapore was Secretary of State Mike "Pom Pom" Pompeo's two-day visit to Pyongyang, which just concluded. Unlike previous visits, there were no grip-and-grin photos of him with North Korean despot Kim Jong Un. They didn't even meet this time. We suppose now that Rump has given him international prestige Kim won't meet with the "help." Moreover, despite Pompeo's bland statement that talks with North Korean officials had been "productive" and that "progress" had been made, North Korea said the talks with him were "regrettable," given the U.S.'s unilateral demands for denuclearization. Someone needs to work on their joint declarations.

Days ago, U.S. intelligence indicated that North Korea was in the process of upgrading a nuclear facility at Yongbyong, continuing with its nuclear program. There's also new concern that North Korea is developing a submarine capable of launching nuclear missiles. The North has conducted underwater launches of ballistic missiles for several years.

No doubt Pom Pom will return claiming another "victory" toward denuclearization, which Rump will tweet excitedly about. Meanwhile, Kim will smile and continue his steady program of nuclear weapons development, knowing that he has Rump where he wants him.
