QOTD -- "Losing Your Culture"

Here's what white supremacist Donald "Rump" Trump had to say to British tabloid, The Sun, yesterday:
Allowing the immigration to take place in Europe is a shame," the U.S. president told the tabloid, which his owned by conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
"I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it’s never going to be what it was and I don’t mean that in a positive way," he continued. [snip]
"I think you are losing your culture," he told the tabloid. "Look around. You go through certain areas that didn’t exist ten or 15 years ago."  (our emphasis)
Wow.  No dog whistle there.

This was in addition to his comments "knifing" his host, British Prime Minister Theresa May, for her conduct of the Brexit negotiations.  (You think she wishes she hadn't invited Rump to Britain much?)

Note to PM May and others hoping to cuddle up to Rump:  when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Like a true abuser, Trump beat May down yesterday, stripping her of her dignity and possibly her power, blaming her for her Brexit woes. He blabbed to the tabloid Sun paper about how he gave her instructions on how to handle it, but she “went her own way”.

And lo and behold, a press conference at Chequers with May, this morning (their afternoon) where he lavished her and the UK with praise, claiming them as best allies, trade partners, and military compatriots. He made a big deal about their bond and the loyalty he feels toward them.

I hope May will keep a clear head and doesn't fall for Trump's two-faced flattery. Whomever is pulling his strings is sending mixed messages: He wants America to go it alone, yet he wants allies to help us out, with all the effort from them, not us.

My head spins with all of this game playing.

donnah -- well said. Trying to mollify, flatter, etc., that lunatic will eventually blow up in one's face.
