A Fool For A Lawyer

As the investigation into the Trump-Russia conspiracy deepens and closes in on Donald "Rump" Trump's associates and family, Rump's TV lawyer, disgraced buffoon and bug-eyed liar Rudy "Ghouliani" Giuliani continues to provide punch lines for pundits and late night comedians alike. He's been moving the "collusion goalposts" more than once, and his latest gambit is to stall and undermine the Mueller investigation by making absurd demands for Rump's agreeing to sit down with Mueller's investigators and prosecutors. Here's former Assistant U.S. attorney Elie Honig's take on Giuliani's latest nonsense:
"...Giuliani appears to insist that certain subject matter areas, including obstruction of justice, must be off-limits to Mueller’s interrogation. Giuliani has complained that any such questions would be a 'perjury trap.' Here’s a little free legal advice to Giuliani and the president: the best way to avoid a perjury trap is to not commit perjury. Many apt comparisons have been made by others: Giuliani’s argument is like calling a bank a 'bank robbery trap,' or a DUI checkpoint is a 'DUI trap.' Indeed, it is unsettling to see the president of the United State take any position other than 'Ask me whatever you want and I’ll answer because I want the truth to come out'—never mind a position of 'I can’t possibly answer questions from you because that would cause me to commit perjury.'(our emphasis)
Rudy "Noun Verb 9-11" and his client want to drag this out beyond Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation, and the mid-term elections, so that they can set a "Saturday Night Massacre" chain-of-events in motion, firing Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, and Robert Mueller to quash the investigation into Rump and his co-conspirators. Giuliani should know better that once these investigations start -- and we're not even discussing State criminal charges -- they're impossible to fully contain. That's why Rump, fool that he is, also has a fool for a lawyer.
