In a blow against a large right-wing media conglomerate, Tribune Media Co.. announced that it was terminating the $3.9 billon deal to be purchased by the right-wing Sinclair Broadcast Group, filing suit against Sinclair alleging substantial breach of contract. The merger was supported by neo-fascist demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump, who said after an adverse ruling by the Federal Communications Commission last month:
"So sad and unfair that the FCC wouldn't approve the Sinclair Broadcast merger with Tribune. This would have been a great and much needed Conservative voice for and of the People.""The People" in Rump's mind is himself, since Sinclair has required its current stations to air pro-Trump propaganda and to skew the news to support right-wing causes. Sinclair already owns 192 stations, and by acquiring Tribune Media's 42 stations, it would have made the right-wing conglomerate the dominant broadcaster in the U.S. and a competitor for Rump worship with the Fux enterprise.
The FCC accused Sinclair of not fully disclosing information affecting the merger, and Tribune Media said in its lawsuit that Sinclair attempted to maintain control over stations it promised to sell under the terms of the merger. In other words, the Rump business scam model.
