The White House has authorized the F.B.I. to expand its abbreviated investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh by interviewing anyone it deems necessary as long the review is finished by the end of the week, two people briefed on the matter said on Monday.
The new directive came in the past 24 hours after a backlash from Democrats, who criticized the White House for limiting the scope of the bureau’s investigation into President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court. The F.B.I. has already completed interviews with the four witnesses its agents were originally asked to talk to, the people said. (our emphasis)This would be a hard position for even the pathological liars and sociopaths at the White (Supremacist) House to fudge on. Might it also be a signal to KavaNut that it would be wise to withdraw soon? Stay tuned.
BONUS: We don't want to give credit where it's not due, but if this also turns out to have been a trigger, so be it:
Jeff Flake says he wants the FBI to do a "real investigation" on Kavanaugh: "It does no good to have an investigation that just gives us more cover, for example. We actually need to find out what we can find out." (via ABC) pic.twitter.com/RuYjXZeCyM— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) October 1, 2018
BONUS II: Or it could be Republicans are starting to see polls like this:
With wide gender, racial and partisan gaps, and a shift in support among independent voters, 48 percent of American voters say the U.S. Senate should not confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court, as 42 percent say Kavanaugh should be confirmed, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today.
This compares to the results of a September survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University National Poll, showing 41 percent of American voters supporting a Kavanaugh confirmation, with 42 percent opposed. Independent voters, who supported Kavanaugh 45 - 39 percent September 10, oppose his confirmation 49 - 39 percent today.
Women oppose confirmation 55 - 37 percent, while men support it 49 - 40 percent. (our emphasis)
UPDATE: Maybe the FBI can look into reports that KavaNut may have tried to coach potential witnesses in the Deborah Ramirez part of the investigation, before her identity was known publicly.
