Women And The Blue Wave

Watching the faces of the clueless cult at Nuremberg Trump rallies cheering his racism, lies and narcissism can be aggravating. You can shrug off the red hat-wearing boys and men as the hapless dolts / bigots / misogynists, etc., that they are, but seeing the women cheering President P*ssygrabber is always a bit (to say the least) annoying. That said, a story from Detroit caught our eye that may signal what's going to happen in just two weeks.

The Republican Women for Progress PAC is supporting the Dem candidates for U.S. House seats in the 8th and 11th Congressional districts of Michigan, taking out $50,000 in TV ads to support them. Dems Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens are running in tight races. The co-founder of the PAC, Meghan Melloy, described the mood among many Republican women:
“We think the best thing that we can do for the party and for the country right now is to make sure there are good women — Democrat or Republican — that are elected to office and who can serve as a check on this administration and on the president. [This effort] really was inspired by us talking to Republican women in these districts where they said there was just no way that they could vote for the Republican.(our emphasis)
The blue wave -- and there will be a blue wave -- will be driven by women voters who are mad as hell at misogynistic sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump and his craven, spineless enablers. The unprecedented number of female candidates on the ballot has ignited grassroots movements all over the U.S. :
"Like the conservative tea party groups that rose up after Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 and that helped Republicans retake the House and gain power in state legislatures in 2010, this new liberal movement has emerged largely outside the traditional party structure.

It is led by hundreds of thousands of mostly white, college-educated, middle-aged women who trace their inspiration to the inaugural women’s marches in January 2017 and whose ambitions have only grown amid a succession of disagreements with Trump, including over the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh."
(our emphasis)
If anyone reading this has any questions about how, when and where to vote, go to vote.org. We can stop Rump's malicious agenda only if we vote Democratic.

I'm a college-educated white woman, middle-aged if I live to be 120. ;-)

Of course I'm voting and I'm urging my mom and mother-in-law to vote as well. We have to create the type of numbers that will outdo the Republicans not only in their actual votes, but to beat back potential fraud and interference by Russian hackers. We have to be realistic; the Republicans are not going to just roll over and let us win. Our votes, at a minimum, have to at least cancel theirs out, at best, we have the votes to win.

I am, by nature, a pessimist. I've always been that way. But I want to be optomistic and hopeful that we can actually win these midterms.
