Just Desserts

A periodic reminder that Robert Mueller isn't the only (or even the best) show in town:
... Trump told the N.Y. Times last year that Mueller would cross a red line if he started prying into his business affairs. But that's what key people in Trump's orbit worry is happening, tangentially, with the Southern District's investigation of Michael Cohen and his illegal activities while working at the Trump Organization.
... These people have told us they're far more worried about the Cohen investigation in New York than they are about whatever Mueller comes up with.
... When these federal prosecutors struck an immunity deal with [Trump Organization CFO Allen] Weisselberg — the man who knows more about Trump's business affairs than anyone — it suddenly raised the specter of a deep investigative dive into the financial affairs of Trump's business.
Just as there have been no leaks from the Mueller investigation, there has been silence from the Southern District of New York.  The wheels are turning.

One Fly - the SDNY has a boatload of stuff to look at. From what we've read, issues involving tax evasion, money laundering, and fraud are on the table. The sheer volume of likely criminality and the arcane forensics needed to piece everything together takes a little more time -- but we believe the results will be worth the wait.
