Mike Pence, Oval Office Potted Plant (UPDATED)

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert gets inside the "mind" of elf- on- a- shelf cipher Mike "Dense" Pence during yesterday's Pelosi- Schumer beat down of Mr. Government Shutdown:

Well, as another nitwit Republican Vice President once said, "A mind is a terrible thing to lose" (assuming there was one there to begin with).

UPDATE: Could it be that Dense is in Trump's doghouse over Nick Ayres' rejection of the chief-of-staff position, and that Trump is thinking about a new running mate in 2020? Digby has some thoughts along those lines.

I was surprised (no, I wasn't) that Right wingers claimed that Trump owned the discussion yesterday, because they saw him belligerently bloviating as he tried to drown out the comments by Pelosi and Schumer. What I saw was an idiot repeating the same things over and over (how often did he say “Wall” anyway?) and trying to rudely dominate the conversation.

Trump didn't “win” that discussion, he was beaten soundly. And don't give me crap about his dominant body language or smackdown of Pelosi and Schumer. They cleaned his clock. And Pelosi had the last word as she exited the White House.

I like these Democrats. They're my kind of people.

I have friends in Indiana who suffered under the governorship of Pence. They said he's not only a racist, but a cruel and hateful man who seeks to punish the poor and the people of color. They shuddered when Trump chose him as VP, but were glad to be rid of him in their state.

He may be cruel and he may have left a lot of fingerprints on the current Supreme Court's recent picks, but he's no genius. Trump picked him for his connections to the Religious Right and the Evangelicals to use.

Pence is rotten and not very bright. Let's hope that he is also caught in the net and taken down, not given a chance to move forward.
