Trump Throws Tantrum Over Wall Funds

Earlier today, in a meeting to discuss the FY 2019 budget impasse and impending Government shutdown, Speaker-to-be Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer clashed with unhinged bigot and "Individual 1" Donald "Rump" Trump, who swore to shut down the government if he didn't get billions for his border wall with Mexico -- which he told his cult followers repeatedly that Mexico would pay for.

The tense exchange occurred in a photo-op in the Oval Office, where the Dem duo goaded a volatile Rump into saying he'd be proud to shutdown the Government over the border wall funding:
“I will be the one to shut it down,” Trump said. “I will take the mantle of shutting it down ... I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck.”
In saying so, Rump took complete ownership of the unpopular move of shutting down the Federal government, which even some frightened Rethuglican leaders have promised won't happen because of the political damage it would cause them. As we've said recently, if this solely hurt Rethugs, we'd say, "Please do, Rump." Even so, it's clear now that any shutdown will be a "Trump shutdown," and it couldn't have been better enunciated today than by Rump himself. Well played, Nancy and Chuck!

BONUS: The Twitter reaction to Rump's public, self-defeating tantrum is priceless. So is the deer-in-the-headlights look of Rump's towel boy and empty suit VP Mike "Dense" Pence, seated petrified next to his raging master.

BONUS II:  One of our favorite reactions, from a national treasure --

BONUS III: Heh heh heh.

I watched it and was thrilled that Nancy Smash and Schumer totally owned Trump. He blathered on and on at the start about the Wall, ad nauseum, and then Nancy steered him and Schumer came after with more statements about how often Trump has lied...it was great!

Trump rambled at first, repeating the same phrases, because he loves a good brag session, but he ended up getting pretty testy while Nancy soothed him like a seasoned mom with a rotten child. And now Trump owns the shutdown. They forced him to take the blame if he makes the shutdown happen.

Delicious!

donnah -- Let's hope this is just the beginning of their dominance of infantile Trump. Good stuff!

I like that Nancy tried to get him to continue the meeting in private, to save more embarrassment, but he insisted on getting pantsed in front of everyone.

bluzdude -- Yes, she's proving every bit the strategist and hardball player she's been in the past. She owned him today without barely any effort.

I would not like to be the person in the room with Hair Furor Agolf Twitler when he watches news coverage of this and it dawns on him that Pelosi played him like a fiddle. And this will be only the first of many such episodes, because he can't learn and can't change. If he thought he had problems dealing with Paul Ryan, well, he's got no idea what he's going to be up against now.

Infidel -- When he attempted to tell Pelosi what was on her mind, she shot him down in flames. More -- much more -- to come in the next 2 years.
