Virginia Loves The Blues
Last November, progressive Dem State Senator Jennifer Wexton defeated Rethuglican incumbent and Trump enabler Rep. Barbara Comstock for reelection in a formerly-competitive House district in Northern Virginia. Former State Sen. Wexton's slot in the Virginia State Senate then had to be filled through a special election yesterday, and if November's message wasn't loud enough, this election turned up the volume. Progressive state Del. Jennifer Boysko won the seat that Wexton vacated over Rethuglican Joe May. "Won" doesn't do Boysko's victory justice, however. Unofficial vote tallys indicate that she beat May by a margin of 70% to 30%. That's ugly, in a beautiful way of course.
