Primum non nocere -- First do no harmOne tradition that should be eliminated when delusional sociopath and corrupt con man Donald "Rump" Trump leaves office is that of having military physicians examining their commander-in-chief. Last week, Rump underwent another "physical" conducted by Dr. Sean Conley, a Navy Commander, who concluded his memorandum concerning Rump's health by absurdly stating that:
"I am happy to announce that the President of the United States is in very good health and I anticipate he will remain so for the duration of his Presidency, and beyond.”The phrasing is remarkably like that of disgraced, pill-pushing Navy doctor Ronny Jackson, whose effusive praise for Rump's health last year led to widespread derision and the suspicion that Rump had ordered the glowing comments from Jackson. It's no coincidence that following Jackson's "report," he was nominated by Rump to be the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and to receive another star from the Navy. The first move failed, and the second is still under consideration by the Senate. Moreover, medical ethics experts find Conley's projection into the future unprofessional and overtly political. It's also curious that Rump was apparently tweeting during the "examination." It all sounds so legit.
It's fine to staff the White (Supremacist) House medical office with career military personnel for routine care. However, it's time to get the military out of the annual medical diagnosis business when it comes to their commander-in-chief, particularly one who has a track record of pressuring physicians to deliver for him (from the podiatrist that wrote the phony "bone spurs" letter that got him out of the draft, to the Rump-dictated report from his bizarre former physician Dr. Harold "Dr. Feelgood" Bornstein). Send him to nearby Johns Hopkins or assemble a diverse team of private doctors to do the examination, not doctors whose careers in the military depend on his favor.
