Poll: 84% Want Mueller Report Released

A poll conducted by Quinnipiac and released on March 26 indicates that 84% of the public wants to see the Mueller report, and not just Attorney General William Barr's whitewash summary. Despite the drumbeat of attacks by demagogue Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump on the Mueller investigation, 55% believe he conducted a fair investigation, while 26% do not.

Also, no Mueller report bump:  Trump's approval rating continues to be underwater with 55% disapproving of his performance, and 39% approving it. A solid minority of 44% believe that Trump's mentally unstable (!), and a large majority of 72% don't believe he's a good role model for children (do tell).

I'll never understand how he maintains a consistent level of approval from his base. Among Republicans, he is always in the high 80 percent. I'm glad his approval numbers are dropping across the board, but it saddens and horrifies me that he is such a vile, vindictive, incompetent egomaniac, and that those features are a WIN for such a large number of people. There's literally nothing he can do to lose those devoted fans.

I'm encouraged to see more people forming actual negative opinions about him. I wish the average citizen would realize that Trump and the Republicans are throwing them under the bus and vote against all of them in 2020.

donnah -- Some of the support is tribal in nature, some is as a result of people being so wrapped up in their lives that they're not paying attention, some are just as despicable as he is, and many are a combination. It's hard to understand what we see in plain view is apparently hidden or explained away for so many.
