Weekend Spring Music

Franz  Schubert's Symphony #8 in B Minor (the "Unfinished Symphony"), as performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Fritz Reiner, was one of the first classical music recordings we owned in our childhood.  The lyrical tone and pastoral melodies, not to mention the album cover, have evoked the beginning of Spring to us ever since, which is why it's become a Hackwhackers tradition to offer it at this time of year.  We're offering both movements for the first time -- everyone could use a longer break in their day! -- with the original recording and album cover, below.
