Mueller: Barr Misrepresented My Report [UPDATED]

The New York Times has revealed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller sent a letter to Trump defense attorney and arrogant shill William "Low" Barr in March complaining about Barr's brief summary of his report that seemed to clear Trump of possible obstruction of justice. From the Times report:
"The letter adds to the growing evidence of a rift between them and is another sign of the anger among the special counsel’s investigators about Mr. Barr’s characterization of their findings, which allowed Mr. Trump to wrongly claim he had been vindicated.

It was unclear what specific objections Mr. Mueller raised in his letter. Mr. Barr defended his descriptions of the investigation’s conclusions in conversations with Mr. Mueller over the days after he sent the letter, according to two people with knowledge of their discussions."
Barr's misleading "summary" was followed by roughly three weeks in which he was taking his time in redacting portions of the report, allowing Trump and his regime to spin the findings as an "exoneration." Barr was scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee, but declined because he objected to Committee legal staff participating in the questioning. Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has indicated he would subpoena Barr if he failed to appear.

UPDATE: The Washington Post has seen a copy of Mueller's letter (hat tip to donnah in comments) which contains the following:
“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions. There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.” (our emphasis)
Barr should resign, and if he doesn't, should be impeached for his attempted cover up.

UPDATE II: Lying in sworn testimony is an impeachable offense.

This is from the Washington Post:

“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” Mueller wrote. “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”

Hoo, boy! Barr has his ass exposed and Trump will be having Pepto Bismol for dinner.

Thanks for updates, Hack.

And there is now evidence of Barr's perjury. In his public testimony, he announced that he didn't know how Mueller felt about the summary, when he had already read Mueller's letter. We know that Barr deliberately used the word “collusion” when Mueller had specifically advised against it.

But this administration is like a game of Whackamole. We can all see the rodents as they pop up, we take a swing at them, and they disappear, only to pop up again somewhere else. With Trump's encouragement, Barr will stonewall and try to avoid testimony, even though Trump sycophants will try to give him cover.

The ball is in their court now, literally. In court, Barr will either refuse to testify or he'll try to wiggle out of what he said, claiming he didn't say what he actually said. He's not stupid, like Trump, and he probably has already made a list of angry responses to questions he'll be asked this week. And the media will bend over backwards to give him cover.

Whackamole.

donnah -- Let's hope Barr gets pinned down by Dems this morning in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, where he lied on April 10 about Mueller's position under oath. The Rethugs will do nothing, of course, and we may even see a distraction ginned up by the White (Supremacist) House to draw attention away from this new scandal.
