Coinciding with the UK's commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, demagogue and draft dodger Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump (a.k.a. Cadet Bone Spurs) will travel to England June 3 - 6 for a state visit at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth. Trump, of course, will see the visit through his malignant narcissism as a tribute to him. In order to deny him at least one moment of glory, Parliament has signaled to the Queen not to ask them to invite Trump to address the body because, as House of Commons Speaker John Bercow put it,
"I feel very strongly that our opposition to racism and sexism and our support for equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons.”Previously, Presidents Obama, Clinton and Reagan have been invited to address Parliament. Leaders of the Labour and Liberal Democrat Parties have also indicated that they will not appear at a banquet for Trump at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen.
It's uncertain whether Trump will get his much coveted ride with the Queen in her gold carriage, an honor that's afforded to world leaders. Thousands of demonstrators are expected to protest Trump's visit to London, and security will be tight.
