Not long after despicable obstructor and corrupt human / turtle hybrid Sen. Mitch "Missy" McConnell declared "case closed" for the Russiagate scandal, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee subpoenaed Trump family crime figure Greasy Donald Trump Jr. to appear before it. The subpoena was issued to enable the Committee to question Greasy Don Jr. about apparently false testimony he gave to the Committee in 2017 regarding the Trump Tower Moscow project:
"The committee had renewed interest in talking to Trump Jr. after Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, testified earlier this year. Cohen told a House committee in February that he had briefed Trump Jr. approximately 10 times about a plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow before the presidential election. Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2017 he was only “peripherally aware” of the proposal." (our emphasis)Keep in mind that, if completed, the Trump Tower Moscow deal would have been the single largest project of its kind for the Trump Organization, one that would have brought in hundreds of millions of dollars to the Trump Organization. If you think his or his daddy's interest would have been "peripheral," Greasy Don Jr. has some land in the Everglades to sell you.
While they're at it, the Committee should ask Greasy Don Jr. to expand on his statement in 2008 that "Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets." That would be interesting.
We'll see how the Republican-led Committee proceeds, and whether Greasy Don Jr. will comply with the subpoena. If he does, there'll be a lot of Fifth Amendment pleading from him to avoid perjury.
