Attorney General Barr’s decision to mislead the public in his testimony to Congress was not a technicality — it was a crime.— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) May 2, 2019
She's referring specifically to this sworn testimony before the House Appropriations Committee on April 9, almost two weeks after Trump defense attorney and lying, arrogant shill William "Low" Barr received the March 27 letter from Special Counsel Robert Mueller objecting to the way Barr characterized the Special Counsel's report:
As bad as Barr's misleading comments to @ChrisVanHollen were, his comments to @RepCharlieCrist may have been even worse.— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) May 1, 2019
CRIST: Reports have emerged that Mueller's team is frustrated with your letter. Do you know what they're referencing?
BARR: "No I don't." pic.twitter.com/2jXrsVk3ny
He lied brazenly and without blinking an eye. Trump has his "fixer," his Roy Cohn. There is a lawless stooge at the head of the Justice Department willing to do everything Trump asks of him. Now, the House of Representatives needs to get Robert Mueller (and Don McGahn) in the witness chair, and then act on what the Speaker called a "crime."
I don't see Barr being held accountable for lying. He will wriggle his way out of any accusations and he has all of the Republicans' backing. Like all of the named and un-named co-conspirators in the Republican party, he's bulletproof.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be like pulling teeth the rest of the term. Trump and his minions will stall, block, and continue to bully their way through the next year and a half and beyond. We just have to wait them out,
