Evangelist Crime Watch: Men With Boys Edition

The pastor of a virulently anti-gay "church" in Alabama has resigned from his position and been arrested after admitting to his congregation that he sexually abused four boys. John Martin had been a pastor at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Florence, AL, which says on its website:
“We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.”
Whew, that's some list of things the congregation disapproves of; no word on whether they have such vehement objections to the brutal treatment of migrant children, racism, sexism, etc. Who are we kidding? Of course not.

Having a molester among them, and preaching to them no less, indicates a failure in their powers of perception. Would you be surprised if 99% of this congregation were die hard Trumpers? Of course not.

BONUS:  It seems the hypocrisy crosses gender lines with these pharisees --
An Illinois Baptist school teacher has been accused of sexual assault and an array of other sex misconduct charges, after a police investigation revealed that she had sent sexually explicit pictures to students and asked for images in return, reports ABC Chicago.
49-year-old Shannon Griffin was arrested Monday. According to police, the inappropriate conduct started in 2013.
Griffin’s husband is a pastor at Jordan Baptist School. She herself preached sexual modesty to female students, taking it upon herself to enforce a school dress code.

First time I've seen the phrase "God's gift of sex"

SSBC -- Surprising that they'd use the three-letter word, since they've listed almost every variation of it. Also, in this case, it's best to both give and receive. Bwahaha.

They left molestation off their list... How convenient!
