Report: Trump Halted Ukraine Aid Before Call

This morning, the Washington Post is reporting (and the Wall St. Journal and New York Times are confirming) that White House crime boss and demagogue Donald "The Chosen One" Trump ordered a suspension of military aid that had been approved for Ukraine just days before his call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pressuring him to dig up bogus dirt on former VP Joe Biden. White House Chief of Staff and key enabler Mick Mulvaney was ordered by Trump to put out the justification that the aid was being held up due to an "interagency process."

"Trump’s order to withhold aid to Ukraine a week before his July 25 call with Volodymyr Zelensky is likely to raise questions about the motivation for his decision and fuel suspicions on Capitol Hill that Trump sought to leverage congressionally approved aid to damage a political rival."

The implicit threat to Ukraine was that unless they cooperated with Trump and his demented lawyer Rudy "Ghouliani" Giuliani in smearing Biden, the military aid to counter Russian aggression would be held up.

“I don’t think it really matters . . . whether the president explicitly told the Ukrainians that they wouldn’t get their security aid if they didn’t interfere in the 2020 elections,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.). “There is an implicit threat in every demand that a United States president makes of a foreign power. . . . That foreign country knows that if they don’t do it, there are likely to be consequences.” (our emphasis)

The Trump regime is fighting hard to keep the transcript of the call and the whistleblower's complaint that initiated the investigation out of the hands of Congress and the media. They have a corrupt Attorney General who will obstruct in the service of Dear Leader. Their desire to keep the transcript hidden is the surest sign that Trump attempted to extort Zelensky to provide bogus "dirt" on Biden in exchange for military aid. an impeachable offense if there ever was one.
