NBC reporter Geoff Bennett caught Trump gofer and Ukraine quid pro quo conspirator Gordon Sondland on his way to give a deposition to Congress this morning. Inadvertently, Sondland voiced what happens to associates of the corrupt and unhinged Donald "Impeachable Me" Trump:
My exchange w/ Sondland earlier:— Geoff Bennett (@GeoffRBennett) October 17, 2019
Q: Can you say definitively there was no quid pro quo?
A: I’m not giving any comment until my testimony.
Q: Why appear today?
A: It’s always important to show up when Congress calls.
Q: Salvaging your reputation?
A: I have nothing to salvage.
So true:
Sondland isn’t a public servant doing his duty: “His account is at odds with testimony from some...who have portrayed Mr. Sondland as a willing participant...&... central player in Mr. Trump’s efforts” to get Ukraine “to investigate his political rivals.” https://t.co/0UHH9ynkgm— Joyce Alene (@JoyceWhiteVance) October 17, 2019
Sondland, adopting the strategy that helped Don Jr avoid an indictment: he was too stupid to know he was breaking the law. https://t.co/qYQApGlTDW— emptywheel (@emptywheel) October 17, 2019
There's also a lot of "I don't recall" in his testimony. Convenient.

What #Sondland OMITS from Opening Statement shows how extra-damning this is likely to get— Ryan Goodman (@rgoodlaw) October 17, 2019
Omissions:
1. Major media (including two NYT blockbusters) in May reported Giuliani pressure on Ukraine for Burisma-BIDEN probe
(Sondland can't credibly claim not knowing)
