Beauregard's Pickett's Charge

If you want a prime example of the self-abasing, servile manner in which Rethuglican politicians suck up to their Dear Leader, sociopath and crime family boss Donald "The Dumb Don" Trump, you need look no further than lop-eared, bigoted bumpkin Jefferson Beauregard Sessions. Former Attorney General Sessions, who was fired by an angry Trump, announced his candidacy yesterday for the Alabama Senate seat currently held by Dem Sen. Doug Jones.

Sessions' announcement was made in what resembled a sniveling hostage tape, with a sheepish-looking Sessions taking "credit" for not writing a tell-all book or appearing on CNN after his firing, and pledging that he will be fiercely loyal to the man that hates his white goober guts. Trump's antipathy centers on Sessions' recusal from the Russiagate investigation, followed by the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Trump believed he had lost control of the investigation at that point (reportedly exclaiming, "I'm f*cked"). Over the subsequent years, he's unleashed his anger on Sessions, dressing him down in front of the Cabinet and staff, and referring to him as "mentally retarded," "this dumb Southerner," and disloyal, going so far as to mocking his accent at CPAC rally. He's already indicated he won't be supporting Sessions' run, and that's a killer for him.

Among the Rethuglicans running for the Alabama seat are disgraced theocratic pedophile Roy Moore, unqualified former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville, and far-right Trump suck-up Rep. Bradley Byrne, who seems to be Trump's favorite for now.

Sen. Jones will face an uphill battle to be reelected in deep red Alabama, but with any of the clowns that could face him, he may pull off an upset. It wouldn't hurt to throw some support his way here.
