Democrats Launching Major Digital Ad Effort
Responding to the Trump campaign's spending on digital advertising on Facebook, Google, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms, PACRONYM -- a new Democratic political action committee -- is committing $75 million to counter Republican lies on social media while providing a Democratic vision for post- Trump America. The PAC's digital campaign "Four Is Enough" will initially target battleground states Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, and will be active especially during the time until the party has a nominee. The group is accepting donations through the small- donor site ActBlue, and has already raised $30 million toward its goal.
Unless and until those social media platforms either follow Twitter's example and reject political ads, or make a serious effort to fact- check lying Trump/ Republican ads, Democrats have no choice but to carry the fight to these important media. This is an all- hands- on- deck election, and we need to match, and hopefully exceed, the resources the right is putting into re- electing The Chosen One. This is one strong option to consider if you're of a mind to make a donation.

Republicans are always ahead of Democrats in planning and execution. Moscow Mitch had the Republican takeover laid out for years, with the end goal of permanent Republican control. Hence the loaded courts and stacked Supreme Court. It's scary.
ReplyDeletePeople mock the Republican supporters who shill for Trump and make fun of his Trump merchandise. MAGA hats and plastic straws seem silly, but they are part of a massive marketing/fundraising campaign that not only provides cash, but also a huge network of names and addresses for use by the campaign. They have basically established a client and donor list to build their resources. And it continues to grow.
Democrats need to step up and use as many tactics as they can to stay in the race. We are already going to be fighting against interference from Russia and the Trump loyalists, so we need to go on the offensive. Glad they're getting fired up.
donnah -- excellent points!
ReplyDeleteAnd look at this:

donnah -- hopefully the Dems are smart enough to know the public is on their side and these bum-rush tactics won't work.
