We're Closer To Seeing Trump's Tax Returns
Today, the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City upheld a Federal District Judge's ruling that fraudster and con man Donald "Individual-1" Trump must turn over his financial records and tax returns from 2011 forward to a grand jury and state investigators. The Manhattan district attorney is investigating Trump's campaign hush money payments to cover two affairs, and whether he committed fraud and tax evasion in connection with that. The court order made it clear that the ruling only held that Trump was required to turn over his tax returns, and did not render an opinion as to whether Trump could be indicted and prosecuted on state crimes while in office.
For years, Trump has tried desperately to hide his tax returns, which indicates that there are damaging, and likely criminal, activities that he could be prosecuted for once he's removed from office. Trump's lawyers are expected to appeal the ruling by the Second Circuit to the Supreme Court, delaying the administration of justice further.
