QOTD


It's the great humorist Will Rogers' 140th birthday today.  Much of his political humor has a current familiarity to it; here are a few of his quips as examples:

"The 1928 Republican Convention opened with a prayer.  If the Lord can see His way clear to bless the Republican Party the way its been carrying on, then the rest of us ought to get it without even asking."

"The difference between a  Republican and a Democrat is the Democrat is a cannibal they have to live off each other, while the Republicans, why, they live off the Democrats."

And, his oft- quoted,

"I belong to no organized party. I am a Democrat."
