Iran Fires Missiles At U.S. Bases In Iraq

This won't be the last of the escalations, bet on it:
Heavy missile attacks were carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps on the Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq that hosts both Iraqi and US soldiers on Tuesday night. Nine missiles hit the airbase, according to Al-Hadath.
A US military official confirmed to Fox News that US forces were being targeted by rocket attacks. A senior US military source in Iraq told Fox that US soldiers were being targeted by either cruise missiles or short range ballistic missiles being fired from Iranian territory at multiple US bases and targets throughout Iraq, tweeted Jennifer Griffin, a Fox News correspondent.
A US official told ABC News that ballistic missiles were fired from inside Iran at multiple US military facilities inside Iraq on Wednesday morning, including Erbil in northern Iraq and Al Asad Air Base in western Iraq.
No word yet of casualties or damage.

Now, the morning after, we'll see what the future holds for us as a nation. I believe that Trump's first reaction last night was to unleash his rage and start bombing Iran. But the fact that he was talked down, didn't give a televised speech immediately, and tweeted a calm message seems to show that someone sat on him and kept him from going too far.

Trump's a bully, we all know it. Iran stood up to him, restrained their own retaliation, and spelled out what the parameters of the engagement would be. I believe that they have cowed Trump for now and he won't respond in a scorched earth manner. He'll find a way to come across as a magnanimous master and take a step back.

But we cannot predict what else could trigger him. The impeachment looms ahead and he's still feeling the pressure.

According to reports, Iran's ballistic missiles are so accurate they were able to pinpoint oil storage tanks in their attack on Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia last year. The thought is they deliberately missed hitting areas on the bases that would cause casualties, in order to make their point while not escalating further at this time. But, count on more targeted attacks, assassinations, etc., by Iran or its proxies in the future until they see U.S. troops exiting Iraq.
