Sunday Reflection: Coloring Things

"Artists can color the sky red because they know it's blue. Those of us who aren't artists must color things the way they really are or people might think we're stupid." -- cartoonist, author and social commentator Jules Feiffer, the Pulitzer Prize-winning contributor to the Village Voice, Esquire and The New Yorker, among many other publications. The multi-talented Feiffer, who turns 91 today, also wrote screenplays for Carnal Knowledge, Little Murders, and Popeye.

As fans of his work over the years can attest, Feiffer hasn't needed to color anything in order to show his brilliance.
