Mid-Week Smokey Songs

Eighty years ago today, the world received a great gift with the birth of singer / songwriter William "Smokey" Robinson, Jr., in Detroit, Michigan. The ageless Robinson, the recipient of every major musical and cultural award, started his musical rise in 1955 as the lead singer with the group that later became The Miracles / Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Hits followed, like "Shop Around," "Going To A Go-Go," "Tracks of My Tears," and many more. His solo career began in 1973, producing such hits as "Cruisin'" and "Being With You." Here's to Smokey on his 80th birthday.
