Carnival barker and unfit sociopath Donald "Impeached Forever" Trump wanted the State of the Union to be a big reality show, complete with side shows (Rush "Oxycontin Rush" Limbaugh stood out like a turd in snow). Knowing that he's a big ratings and audience size guy, he's probably not going to brag about his SOTU speech drawing 21% fewer eyeballs than last year. Nielsen reports that this year's SOTU drew 37 million viewers, while 47 million viewer watched last year's SOTU. The public is obviously tired of his schtick after three long, ugly years.
It's wonderful that the multiple lies and slurs that Trump uttered during his lengthy speech were overshadowed by the image of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tearing up his speech at the end. She upstaged the orange buffoon at his own reality TV game, and that may sting him more than the big drop in ratings. All of which is to say, sad!
