Demagogue and sociopath Donald "Cheat-O" Trump's comfort zone is generally the Fux Channel, where his sycophants give him the media equivalent of a slow massage every day and night. So, he must have felt safe last night to indulge in some rare candid talk at a Fux "town hall," because he said the quiet part out loud:
"When Fox News host Martha MacCallum suggested that if 'you don’t cut something in entitlements, you will never really deal with the debt,' Trump jumped in right away. It's rich that MacCallum thinks entitlement cuts are the solution to the debt problem, when her Dear Leader has rung up some $3 trillion in debt during his term so far, in large part due to his enormous tax giveaway to the top 1% and major corporations.
'Oh, we’ll be cutting,' he said to an audience in Scranton. 'We’re also going to have growth like you’ve never seen before.'” (our emphasis)
Liar that he is, he's promised before that Social Security and Medicare would be untouched by budget cuts, only to have said as recently as January that entitlement cuts would be on the table:
"During an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, Trump was asked, '[Would] entitlements ever be on your plate?' Entitlements are, of course, Washington-speak for Medicare and Social Security. Trump responded, 'At some point they will be,' adding, 'It’ll be toward the end of the year.' Just in case Trump misunderstood, Joe Kernen followed up, reminding him this was something he had 'said you wouldn’t do in the past' and specifically mentioning Medicare. Trump cut him off. 'Well, we’re going to look.'” (our emphasis)"Toward the end of the year" means after the elections, of course. But the Very Stable Genius had already given up the game, and signaled that if he's reelected, significant cuts to Social Security and Medicare are coming.
He's handed Dems a very precious gift that should run in ads in every media market from now until November 3.
