What Do These Seven States Have In Common?

As noted on Rachel Maddow's program last night:
"The National Governor’s Association is tracking the state-by-state [coronavirus] response and where there are mandated bans of any specific size. There are no statewide bans in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Idaho and Wyoming."
So what do these seven states have in common? They have Republican governors and Republican-controlled state legislatures, of course. Because in their minds, perhaps up until a few days ago, the coronavirus was a hoax perpetrated by Dems and the media, and it would disappear quickly, according to their Dear Leader.

One dimwit Republican stands out: Oklahoma Gov. and Trump cultist Kevin "Stitt For Brains" Stitt, who defiantly and very foolishly exposed his family by going out to a crowded Oklahoma City restaurant this past weekend.  Of course, now that the White (Supremacist) House tone has shifted, Stitt will probably demand a COVID-19 test in the wake of his mindless exposure. It's why we can't have good things in this country.

They will realize before too long that this is going to hurt their states. For anyone who voted for these craven Republicans, this is on you.

I heartily recommend that everyone watches my Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown's speech from the Senate floor. He is brutally honest, he goes after Mitch McConnell, and he makes me so proud that he's my Senator. I emailed him this morning with my thanks.

Having our representatives stand up for us now is vital. If those people in the seven non-action states had any brains, they'd be contacting their senators and demanding action.

donnah -- Sherrod Brown's one of the very best. There are so many in the other party that shouldn't be given the responsibility of governing a deserted town.

Ron Johnson is from my home state. Much like McConnell and Paul from Kentucky, he is beloved in Wisconsin. Talk radio here was bemoaning the current situation and wishing Scott Walker ( the common sense guy) was still here. He'd fix this mess. The mess caused by the do nothing democrats. (Sarcasm intended)

seafury -- Yes, small government Republicans do such a great job when effective government action is needed. Our sympathies that Sen. Johnson represents Wisconsin. He recently implied that the death rate from COVID-19 was acceptable, as long as we could return to normal business activity. Nice.
