A giant trompe l'oeil rendering of a child painted on a farm field in Leysin, Switzerland (Valentin Flauraud/SAYPE/Handout via REUTERS).  Note farm buildings above child's head for perspective.

The artist calls the coronavirus- themed work "Beyond crisis."  Here's the story behind it.

donnah -- it's hard to believe how it was conceived and executed, but amazing, right?!

As an artist, I can appreciate his vision and dedication,, right down to his use of biodegradable chalk. But I cannot imagine such a huge scale and vast canvas to work on. He reminds me of Banksie, whose stenciled artworks are always popping up, making his political statements known. But Banksie works on a smaller scale.

Remember Cristo, who created massive works of art that embraced nature and were temporary celebrations of texture and light? I could never manage works of that scope, but I love them.

These artists are true treasures.
