Court Denies Trump Dismissal In Emoluments Case
There's no question that lawless con man and mentally unstable demagogue Donald "Individual-1" Trump has profited financially from his position over the past three and a half years. Using his Washington, DC hotel as a collector of bribes from foreign potentates is the most egregious example. The District of Columbia and the State of Maryland sued Trump for violating the Constitution's Emoluments Clause, which prohibits Federal officials from accepting things of value from foreign individuals and governments.
Today, in a 9 to 6 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit -- a generally conservative body -- the Court denied Trump's motion to seek dismissal of the case against him. While this is a setback for Trump, his attorneys will continue to fight to allow him to violate the Constitution as the case grinds through the judicial system.
