As the COVID-19 pandemic and the disastrously incompetent response by the Trump administration have driven unemployment numbers to over 36 million in just two-and-a-half months, the fouled up (and held up) relief checks and the widespread abuse of the Paycheck Protection Program by undeserving big businesses haven't accomplished what was needed.
Led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Dems passed the $3 trillion "Heroes Act", authorizing funds to State and local governments (public safety workers, health care workers, etc.), a new infusion of money directly to individuals, funds for expanded testing and tracing, and housing relief. Demagogue and sociopath Donald "Disinfectant Donnie" Trump has already called the House bill "dead on arrival." In his warped mind, any admission that Americans are still struggling due to his incompetence and neglect is unthinkable. His election is all that counts, and the economy is his only card. So there'll be no more relief in order to force people back to work (for, as he would put it callously, "there will be more death").

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
The knowledge that he will cut off funding to those who need it most, he'll recommend a potentially dangerous drug to his followers, and that he glibly shrugs off the deaths of more than 90,000 Americans, all this and he's still capable of winning in November. His base and many others would elect him all over again.
How stupid they are.
In his mind, that's 90,000 people who won't be voting Democratic.
