First, the Hunter Biden/ Burisma "investigation" led by the dumbest man in the Senate, Sen. Ron "Tiny" Johnson (R-WI), using Russian intelligence misinformation, laid an embarrassing egg.
Now, the "October surprise" that Trump consigliere William "Low" Barr was attempting to cook up with the help of U.S. Attorney John Dunham on the origins of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election has come a cropper:
Attorney General Bill Barr has been sharing news with Republican leadership as of late that’s left the party feeling miserable, dejected and depressed about the upcoming general election.
According to a Thursday report by Politico, GOP senators were told last week not to expect any stunning developments from Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham before November 3–dashing hopes for an October surprise that might turn the tide for President Donald Trump’s precarious reelection bid.
Durham was tapped by Barr during the spring of 2019 to lead an investigation into the genesis of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation that initially targeted Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign–and which later became the basis of the special counsel investigation led by Robert Mueller.
Simply put, if Barr and Durham had even a shred of evidence of wrongdoing, much less anything indictable, you can be damn sure it would be coming out now. The fact that it's not indicates that the "investigation" is yet another dud that will die not with a bang, but a whimper after the election.
But, never fear! Republicans are still frantically trying to find anything they can to stir up their mouth- breathing base and distract attention from the historic and deadly incompetence of their Dear Leader and their cultish party.
Senate Republicans are apparently hip to the notion that Durham will not be delivering anything of value to their own electoral fortunes before Election Day–and have reportedly ramped up their own releases of declassified intelligence documents in recent days to make up for the perceived “Obamagate” shortfall.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is also stepping into the breach to abuse his power for partisan purposes!

All of which will land as duds, just as their earlier efforts have. But, when your steroid- juiced Dear Leader is wildly flapping his arms for something, anything, to bail him out from a looming electoral smackdown, his corrupt lickspittles feel the obligation to keep dropping those duds. Sad!
