After saying that he "learned a lot" from his COVID-19 diagnosis and hospitalization, Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump and his ass- kissing enablers went about busily demonstrating that was not, in fact, true:
The talk of the president’s release from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center came as Conley and two other physicians treating Trump gave an upbeat but incomplete characterization of his condition. Outside doctors said they were mystified by what they said was an inconsistent portrayal of the president’s illness as relatively mild despite the aggressive mix of treatments he is getting.
Of course, we also have the example of him breaking quarantine and taking a joy ride outside of Walter Reed with Secret Service agents exposed to infection in a hermetically sealed SUV. It's also being reported that COVID Donnie was "getting bored" watching t.v. coverage and wanted to get out and do some ego- basking. Expect more arrogant, sociopathic behavior as the Trump regime's expiration date nears.
A door-to-door COVID-19 testing survey has been halted due to multiple incidents in greater Minnesota of residents intimidating and shouting racial and ethnic slurs at state and federal public health survey teams.
The CDC pulled its federal surveyors out of Minnesota this week following reports of verbal abuse and intimidation, including an incident in the Iowa border town of Eitzen, Minn., in which a survey team walking to a house was blocked by two cars and threatened by three men, according to state health officials. One man had his hand on a holstered gun.
Although the article doesn't identify the thugs involved, these are MAGA cultists -- you betcha. The people they're abusing are health care workers risking their own lives to protect public health, making the threats and slurs all the more disgusting and infuriating.
The Trumpy, corrupt Attorney General of Texas is being accused of a host of crimes -- new ones, not the old ones he's already been indicted for:
Several top deputies of Texas’ attorney general have reported to law enforcement that their boss engaged in crimes including bribery and abuse of office, according to an internal letter.
In a single-page letter to the director of human resources in the attorney general’s office, the seven senior lawyers wrote that they reported Republican Ken Paxton to “the appropriate law enforcement authority” for potentially breaking the law “in his official capacity as the current Attorney General of Texas.”
“We have a good faith belief that the attorney general is violating federal and/or state law including prohibitions related to improper influence, abuse of office, bribery and other potential criminal offenses,” the Thursday letter states. It was first reported jointly by the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE-TV and subsequently obtained by The Associated Press.
The letter does not offer specifics but nonetheless stands as a remarkable accusation of criminal wrongdoing against the state’s top law enforcement officer by his own staff, including some longtime supporters of his conservative Christian politics. It could deepen legal trouble for Paxton, who has spent nearly his entire five years in office under felony indictment for securities fraud, although the case has stalled for years over legal challenges.
This looks like a good opportunity for a Democratic pick up in 2022:
Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, a fiercely anti-tax and anti-regulation lawmaker who never entirely warmed to President Donald Trump, will not seek re-election in 2022, according to a person with direct knowledge of Toomey’s plans.
But the biggest surprise is that, Toomey, 58, will not run for governor in 2022, when the seat becomes open, said the person, who did not want to be named divulging information from private conversations before Toomey announces it publicly.
The Democrats should have a slew of attractive candidates to take this seat.
