Mid-Week Song

With the landing of Perseverance on Mars and the launch of the "S.S. Katherine Johnson", we resume our look at 1960s rock/pop instrumentals with 1962's number one hit "Telstar" by the British band The Tornados. The song celebrated the launch of the experimental communications satellite in 1962. It's noteworthy that the record was the first number one hit in the U.S. by a British band, preceding The Beatles by a couple of years. Also, the medium used here is scopitone film,  an early version of video.
